To understand the Robotics Team you need to understand FIRST.

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international high school robotics competition operated by the FIRST organization. Each year, the organization designs a game around various tasks, and teams of high school students, coaches, and mentors build robots to play it. Tasks have included shooting balls into goals, hanging on bars, placing objects in predetermined locations, and balancing robots on field elements.

Team 8114 (also called the Rocketeers) is the BISD Team that brings together students, mentors, educators, families, and Boerne community partners who share a passion for learning, innovation, and teamwork.

Each season, the Rocketeers take on a new FIRST Robotics Competition challenge that requires creativity, commitment, and collaboration. While building a competition-ready robot is a major part of what we do, our team is ultimately built around people—each contributing different skills, perspectives, and experiences toward one shared goal.

While students may focus on technical or organizational roles, strategy, safety, and community outreach are shared responsibilities. Every Boerne Rocketeer contributes to preparing for competition, maintaining a safe and productive environment, and representing Team 8114 throughout the year.
